Crazy 2022 Start with Cooking Miscellaneous

It's been a crazy year.  COVID-19 is still around and Jan 6 at the DC was a sign of Cockroaches infesting within.  Instead of reflecting on all the goodness and blessings, some just can't hold on to their civility and act it out in crazy embarassing manners.  We were very lucky that it was an inside job rather than the hostile take over like the ones depicted in some movies.  While the crazy Cockroaches were stumping along, we cook along, too, in the kitchen to express our COVID-19 craziness.  Here are some cooking we did.  How about you?

If you feel really cooped up in the house, put your frustration and expression in the kitchen lab.  Here are some recipes that are really fun to make:

1.  Easy Chiffon Cake - Personal Size

You don't need 7 eggs to make Chiffon Cake.   But divide the 7 eggs or 4 eggs Chiffon Cake Batter into two mini Chiffon Cake Molds, and make personal size Chiffon Cake.  The driection is the same as any other recipes I have posted and for 2 Eggs Chiffon Cake.  This one has Organic Taro Food Powder as color and for flavoring.

I do not add food color to enhance, but it tastes really good.   You can buy those Organic Food Powder at Walmart.

2.  Need some Caffeine?  COFFEE FLAVOR MOCHI DANGO

Mix enough Glutinous Sweet Rice Flour - about 250 g with warm water.  Add INSTANT COFFEE Granules plus some sugar as sweet as you like.  Add enough warm water to make a smooth dough - your ear lobe soft.  Then, make it into a rope.  Slice into equal size - about 1 Tablespoon each.  Boil a fresh pot of filtered water.  Form the mochi into balls.  Drop the balls in.  Stir them once to loosen them off the bottom of the pot.  Watch carefully to bring the water to boil once. Then, lower the temp, and continue boiling for 2 minutes more.  Enjoy!  *never bite or put a whole steaming MOCHI into mouth as my father always reminded us.

3.  Baking bread is always a challenge and if you are scheming and planning to do something meaningful, Bake a Bread.

And how about an Olive Bread.

If you can figure out the Bread Formula and get those Preferment going and produce a bread without Instant YEAST, you can survive the COVID-19 stay home fever.

More to come in the next post.
